How This Tool Works

What the figures come from

The four models, their sound insulation indices, maximum surface densities and certified build-up heights are the published certified values: YB-A60FIII-1 at ≥56 dB / ≤63.88 kg/m² / 71.5 mm, YB-HdB-5 at ≥50 dB / ≤67.63 kg/m², YB-LdB-1 at ≥46 dB / ≤27.45 kg/m², and YB-A60-7 at ≥45 dB / ≤45.8 kg/m² / 40 mm.

What it does not decide

It does not decide whether your division needs an A-60 rating. That comes from the general arrangement and SOLAS chapter II-2, and it is the one input you cannot get from a floor supplier. The two Part 5 models have no published single build-up height, so a height constraint never excludes them here.

Before you rely on the answer

A qualifying model still has to be matched to the certificate that your flag administration accepts, because the three class approvals differ in scope.
