Two-Component Mixing and Coverage Calculator

DP-SDI is mixed one part A to six parts B. That ratio is not a house rule: it is recorded on DNV EC type-examination certificate MEDB00005WN Rev. 1, alongside nominal dry densities of 1,200 kg/m³ for component A and 1,300 kg/m³ for component B. Mixing off ratio puts the applied film outside what that certificate describes.

Coverage from a given quantity

Our documents publish both. The higher figure gives the more cautious coverage.

Why the ratio matters more than the quantity

A two-component polyurethane cures by reaction, not by drying. Component A short means unreacted polyol stays in the film and the coating never reaches its stated hardness of 60 ± 5 Shore A or its adhesion of at least 1.8 MPa to steel. Component A long stiffens the film, and a stiffer film damps less. The ratio is the specification.

What this tool does not do

It gives no pot life, no cure schedule and no overcoat window, because those depend on the deck temperature and humidity on the day and we will not publish a number that changes with the weather. Ask us for the application procedure for your yard and season.
