How This Tool Works

What the figures come from

Carried mass is the certified maximum surface density multiplied by the deck area. The densities are the published certified maxima: 63.88, 67.63, 27.45 and 45.8 kg/m² in model order. Choosing YB-A60-7 over YB-A60FIII-1 saves 18.08 kg/m², which is 7.2 tonnes across 400 m².

What it does not decide

It does not estimate a fuel saving. That depends on the hull, the trade and the speed profile, and any figure published against it here would be invented.
